The summer countdown continues: there are only 12 days of school left! The last few weeks of school are packed with activities so please refer to the blog and Mrs. Winfree’s Ridgecrest Roar to stay on top of all our upcoming events.
A BIG THANK YOU! We had such a wonderful field trip last week. We owe a giant thank you to each parent who rode the bus with us and also the parents who met us down there! It was a great time. The students continued to talk about the field trip the remainder of the week saying “That was THE best field trip, ever!” If you have any pictures, please send them to Ms. Mack or Ms. Terry. We are working on getting pictures from parents so we can post them on DOJO! School Carnival is THIS week! It is on Tuesday, May 22nd at 5 PM. It goes until 8 PM. It will be at the park right NEXT to the school. Here is an excerpt from the note sent home last week--- On the last day of school, the cafeteria is closed so there will be no lunches provided at school. Since school gets out at 12:40 PM on June 7th, the students will be very hungry and in need of some snacks. If you are interested in sending a snack (veggies, juice boxes, fruit, fruit snacks, chips, paper goods, etc) for the class with your student, please cut the bottom of this off and send it back with your student! We are very appreciative of any snacks that you are able to send with your student. Also, we want to make sure that we celebrate all birthdays this year. If we have not had the opportunity to celebrate your student’s birthday, please let us know! It is very important to us that we recognize and celebrate each child’s birthday! The last day of school would be a perfect time to celebrate birthdays! A note about warm weather: The cool spring weather seems to have vanished overnight and we are now enjoying much warmer days! Please remind your student to drink plenty of water during the day and to dress appropriately for the sudden change in temperature. Applying sunscreen before school is encouraged since students spend quite a bit of time outside for recess and other class activities. Students are also welcome to bring their own water bottles from home and keep them at their desks. HOMEWORK: Homework will be coming home on Tuesday. This is due to Ms. Mack being at her conference on Friday. VOLUNTEERING: There are open slots to volunteer in Ms. Terry's room!
