Since school gets out at 12:40 PM on June 6th, the students will be very hungry and in need of some snacks. If you are interested in sending a snack (veggies, juice boxes, fruit, fruit snacks, chips, paper goods, etc) for the class with your student, please let us know! We are very appreciative of any snacks that you are able to send with your student. Also, we want to make sure that we celebrate all birthdays this year. If we have not had the opportunity to celebrate your student’s birthday, please let us know! It is very important to us that we recognize and celebrate each child’s birthday! The last day of school would be a perfect time to celebrate birthdays! Chinese Summer Camp: The University of Utah’s Confucius Institute is hosting an intensive, week-long Chinese summer camp in July at several locations, including Ridgecrest! Students will participate in a two hour language class in the morning, and receive a cultural lesson in the afternoon with guest teachers from China. Dual immersion students who will be in 2nd through 6th grade this coming school year are welcome to enroll! Please visit the following link for more information: https://continue.utah.edu/youth/chinese-immersion A note about warm weather: the cool spring weather seems to have vanished overnight and we are now enjoying much warmer days! Please remind your student to drink plenty of water during the day and to dress appropriately for the sudden change in temperature. Applying sunscreen before school is encouraged since students spend quite a bit of time outside for recess and other class activities. Students are also welcome to bring their own water bottles from home and keep them at their desks. A BIG THANK YOU! We had such a wonderful field trip last week. We owe a giant thank you to each parent who rode the bus with us and also the parents who met us down there! It was a great time. The students continued to talk about the field trip the remainder of the week saying “That was THE best field trip, ever!” If you have any pictures, please send them to Ms. Mack or Ms. Terry.
